Michelle Obama Responds to Kanye West's Recent Comments

Kanye West recently spoke to Ryan Seacrest about a number of things. Here's one of the things he said.
There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday … and collectively we’re the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [President] Obama is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day … so it’s to say when we are there and [editor-in-chief of French Vogue] Carine Roitfeld supports my girl, that’s a breakthrough … there’s a wall of classism that we are breaking through.”
I can only imagine this is what Michelle Obama had to say in response.

Dear Kanye,
Hi, it's Michelle. Michelle Obama, Barack's wife. Barack Obama, the President of the United States of America.
That makes me the First Lady of the United States of America. Me = Michelle Obama.
I hope all is well.
You know, Kanye, I woke up this morning. In the White House. And one of my aides told me she had something to show me. Something that would make me laugh. A "cute" thing, if you will.
It was a series of quotes, Kanye. About my husband and me. About my Vogue magazine cover. And fashion. And classism.
They were your quotes. You were the cute thing, Kanye. And my aide was right. It did make me laugh. Oh, what a hearty White House laugh it was.
Keep my name out your mouth, ya heard.
Tell me, Kanye, what's your goal with this? Why us? Are you still mad about my husband calling you a jackass a few times? Is that why you're focusing on me instead of on all the other women who have been on the cover of Vogue?
That's what this is all about, isn't it? You're out here all mad simply because we're stylin' on you? I know Barack never did apologize for the name-calling, because you know how you men are with your stubbornness.
But it's more than that. It's bigger than fashion. To you, this has become a couple vs. couple thing.
I once overheard some of our summer interns talking about you — about how mad you get when you're compared to other rappers, because your peers are Jesus and Jobs and Walt Disney. I heard it and actually respected that. It shows you have some drive to be a great man. You should fight to get your respect. I see my husband, the President of the Free World, get disrespected every day. And it tears me apart.
So you have to understand where I'm coming from when I say it's laughable for my 21-year marriage to be mentioned on the same website as your thing with Kim.
Imagine if someone compared you to Papoose, Kanye. Well, you're Barack's Papoose. And yes, Kim is my Remy Ma.
My husband's not moving our family out the country so you can't see where we stay. Because he runs the country, you see.
And, again, we live in the White House. Very visible.
Look, Kanye, I'm a fan. You had me the second you brought along Uncle Charlie Wilson, and there's no turning back. I don't think you're crazy at all, and in fact fully think you're saying things that other people are scared to articulate. And, of course, Chicago will always bring us together.
Knowing that, never think that I'm not from Chicago for one second. Barack may be from Hawaii, but I will always be from that 312.
As a woman who loves fashion but never sought to be an iconic figure of some sort, I understand where you're coming from. And your frustrations. You're both deeply embedded in fashion, you and Kim, and daring to match, with the man skirts and silly string bikinis. I hear you even have a little pop-up store next to hers that sells nice Confederate flags.
And there's me, a semi-conservative dresser with my fashion not at the center of my life, and somehow I still ended up on the Vogue cover. And, to make matters worse, I didn't even ask.
They came to me. And get this, I actually had to think about it.
But next time, Kanye, if we can agree to squash this, I will decline and tell them to ask Kim. Will that make you happy? Will that end classism? Will the inclusion of your born-rich future wife break down the walls that my trailblazing old-ladyness seeks to build up? Just let me know.
Because, at the end of the day, who really needs to be on the cover of Vogue for a third time?
In the meantime, there's always Terry Richardson.
Jackass.
Send my love to Kim and baby Nori.
—Michelle

Kanye says he and Kim are more influential than Barack & Michelle

The talented rapper, who used to constantly criticize the media in the past, now seems to love the media since becoming a member of the Kardashian clan. Kanye now loves promoting himself and his baby mama Kim Kardashian any opportunity he gets.

In his latest interview, Kanye explains why he and his fiancee Kim are more influential than president Barrack Obama and the First Lady, Michelle Obama. Kanye tells Ryan Seacrest;

"There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue. She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday.”
“And collectively, we’re the most influential with clothing. No one is looking at what [Barack Obama] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.”

(PHOTO) Embattled Nigerian Aviation Minister Oduah Faces House Committee Hearing Over BMW Car Scandal

transcript from PREMIUMTIMES
14:25
Hearing Ends. Thanks for following our updates. Do stick around our site for the rest of the day as we will put the proceeding in their correct perspective for you.
14:22
Reps wrapping the hearing. Chairperson Onyejeocha said despite the testimonies from those invited since last week, the committee has received sufficient documents that will inform its report. “We have given everyone fair hearing,” she said.
“We assure everyone and all Nigerians we will do justice”.
14:14
Attention has left the minister for more than half an hour. Lawmakers again tackle Coscharis over the disparity in chassis numbers of the cars.
A frustrated Chief Executive of Coscharis, Cosmas Maduka, makes it clear his company has nothing to hide as the committee would think. “We are not doing monkey business here,” he asserted. Mr Maduka was asked to withdraw the comment and he promptly complied.
13:47
Jerry Manwe (Member) to minister: If the armoured cars were not for you as you claimed, who is using them now?
Former acting DG answers for minister: Any one can use any car in the pool
Manwe: Do you mean a cleaner can use those kind of cars?
Former DG: Anybody can use; but those kind of cars are for VIP movement, including foreign dignitaries, including the minister, and even you honourable member!
Manwe; Thank you. But the law of the country does not allow me to use those cars.
13:25
Blame briefly leaves the minister to officials of NCAA over “do the needful” directive. For a moment, lawmakers appear to agree with the minister the all-encompassing comment exonerates her. The former acting DG of NCAA is tackled for even initiating a memo to Odua for a purchase out of budget, and beyond approved limit.
13:08
Minister insists NCAA did not exceed its limit or violate the law.
She is reminded by by Jerry Manwe (Taraba state) that the National Assembly rejected armoured cars in the budget which she is defending, the minister buckles: “NCAA will answer that,” she says.
Minister is pressed by Zakari Mohammed(Kwara state) why she exceeded her approval limit, she said her comment on the letter to NCAA was not final but advisory to NCAA to follow the law.
On the said letter, the minister wrote “Approved. Do the needful”.
Brief game on semantics here. Minister says “Do the needful” could mean anything”. But the lawmakers are not having that. NCAA is called to explain the “needful” it did. And the NCAA director general shirks to the former acting DG who was in charge then.
12:51
The minister’s initial presentation is over. She is now receiving questions from the lawmakers.
12:40
The aviation minister still rendering her opening remarks.
The “First Bank facility to NCAA to the tune of N643 million mere understanding not an obligation” she daid.
“Nigeria’s airspace is now rate among the safest in the world”. She adds that allegation about car purchase is meant to discredit her team and give the impression her effort at reforms is not succeeding.
NCAA has not spent any money not appropriated by the National Assembly. The agency has even saved the nation a cost and further embarrassment that may occur in future.
12:34
Oduah: NCAA has real needs for new operational vehicles. Insists armoured cars not meant for her but foreign dignitaries.
“NCAA acted within the ambit of law”.
“Nothing in the stated documents mentioned my name. I did not request for any vehicles. All I did was to approve the purchase, subject to the agency doing the needful(following the law). NCAA followed due process as required by law.”
“The Federal ministry of aviation under my watch has always ensured we act in a prudent manner and under the ambit of the law”-Stella Oduah
12:19
“It is not true, cannot be true that NCAA bought bullet proof vehicles for honourable minister of aviation. My understanding is that what NCAA has done is to plan for its vehicle needs for the next three years under the Medium Term Expenditure Framework,” — Stella Oduah
12:17
Ms. Oduah says opportunity to appear will allow her give her side of the story. “For the past week, I have been bashed in the media, many have also risen to my defence.”
She said her spokesperson’s admission of the alleged purchase, while right on concerns for her safety, was “inaccurate”.
She goes ahead to say online publications that she compelled NCAA to purchase cars for her were “false and malicious” allegations. “False in its entirety!”
Says online allegations not substantiated but based on “erroneous” comment of her aide.
12:10
Ms. Oduah starts by apologizing for inability to attend previous hearings. She said said her absence was not out of disrespect and thanks the committee for rescheduling her appearance.
12:06
Onyejeocha quips on the tense mood here. “We are not mourning, there is no aeroplane crash; I want to see everyone smiling,” she says. “Feel free and relax.”
The minister is about to be called upon to testify. She takes oath to say “nothing but the truth, the whole truth.”
12:00
Hearing committee chairperson, Nkiruka Onyejeocha, gives her opening speech, explaining the delay in starting the hearing and that the committee would be just and fair.
Delay was because venue used for hearing on Wednesday had been taken over for a another hearing on Land racketeering.
“This committee is out to get to the bottom of the matter. But committee is not on ‘witch-hunting’”
11:56
Stella Oduah, the aviation minister has just taken her seat before the committee. The hearing begins.
11:40
The minister has finally arrived at the venue of the hearing, 100 minutes after the hearing was scheduled to kick off. The lawmakers now setting up to start the hearing.

DANGOTE AFRICA"S MOST POWERFUL MAN

The President, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has been named the most powerful man in Africa and 64th in the world by the Forbes magazine.
Dangote, who Forbes says is by far Africa’s richest man with a net worth of $16.1bn as of March 2013, was ranked ahead of the likes of Fifa President, Sepp Blatter (69); Speaker, United States House of Representatives, John Boehner (66); and Founder, Mo Ibrahim Foundation, Mohammed Ibrahim (71).
The 56-year-old, Dangote, whose company is considered one of the most diversified on the list, is currently ranked 43 on the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires with his net worth over time said to be on the rise.
In August, the industrialist had announced plans by the Dangote Group to build a $9bn refinery and petrochemical complex in Nigeria, a move which is expected to help the group further diversify its current business model and increase his net worth.
Away from his business interests, mention was also made of his philanthropic efforts in his profile on the Forbes website.
It reads in part, “Inspired by fellow billionaires, Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, Dangote is making a name for himself on the philanthropic circuit and has given away millions to education, health and social causes in Africa.”
Apart from Dangote, Ibrahim is the only other African on the list, which contains 72 people.
Russia’s President, Vladimir Putin, topped the list, displacing United States President, Barrack Obama, who dropped to the second spot for the first time in three years.
Chinese President, Xi Jinping, occupies the third spot, while the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, debuts on the list at number four.
Pope Francis, who was elected in March this year, leads 12 other new entrants.
Other notable new names on the list are Samsung Chairman, Lee Kun-Hee (41); Volkswagen’s Martin Winterkorn (49); South Korean President, Park Geun-hye (52); and Janet Yellen (72), who has been nominated by President Obama as the next leader of the US Federal Reserves.
The Executive Editor of the New York Times, Jill Abramson (68), makes a return appearance after dropping off the list in years past.
Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg, aged 29, and North Korean leader, Kim Jung-un, aged 30, are the youngest people on the list. Zuckerberg occupies the 24th place, while Kim is ranked 46th.
Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah, who occupies the eight spot, is the oldest person on the list. He is 89 years old.
The world’s richest man, Carlos Slim, is, however, not the most powerful man. The América Móvil honorary chairman occupies the 12th position.
According to Forbes, the Most Powerful People in the World list is an annual snapshot of the heads of state, financiers, philanthropists and entrepreneurs, who truly rule the world.
“It represents the collective wisdom of top Forbes editors, who consider hundreds of nominees before ranking the planet’s top 72 power-brokers – one for every 100 million people on earth – based on their scope of influence and their financial resources relative to their peers,” the magazine explained.
This year’s list features 17 heads of state, who run nations with a combined Gross Domestic Product of some $48tn.

(sport) Liverpool manager wanted me at Chelsea – Moses

Liverpool’s on-loan forward Victor Moses very nearly became a Chelsea player more than five years before actually making the move to Stamford Bridge.
Moses was an academy product at Crystal Palace in the previous decade and made his Premier League debut with the Eagles.
It was the same time that his current Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers was youth team manager under Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.
Rodgers became an admirer of Moses’ talents, and the 22-year-old admitted he was being wooed for a switch after just a few sessions with the Blues. Moses eventually joined Chelsea in 2012.
“I spoke to (Rodgers) when I was 16 and he wanted me to come to Chelsea, the Nigeria winger  told Liverpool’s official site.
“So I trained with the club for a bit and he was impressed.
“I went back home after the training period, had a little think about it and thought I’d get a bigger chance to play and develop at Palace.
“So I rang him up and said I was sorry, but that I decided not to join them, and that I wanted to build my career from Palace.
“It’s great actually that I eventually move to Liverpool and he’s the manager here and I get the chance to work under him.”
Moses is on a season-long loan at Liverpool and, ironically, scored on his Reds debut for Rodgers’ against ex-club Swansea City – his only goal so far – in a 2-2 draw last month.
Meanwhile, Moses says Liverpool want to push for silverware after an impressive start to the season.
The 22-year-old has been ever-present in  Rodgers’ side since completing a season-long loan move from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
“I’m just here to do my best for Liverpool, there’s no question about that,” Moses told KICK OFF.
“It’s a massive club with great history and so I just want to add to that. We’d like to push for trophies this season, so I’m just going to help the team with that aim.”
“We’ve got a really great squad here, with quality players and I’m honoured to be part of it.

(sport) Severed head of Brazilian footballer discovered in a bag on his front doorstep

Police in Brazil have launched a manhunt after the severed head of a former professional footballer was left on the doorstep of his home. The horrified wife of Joao Rodrigo Silva Santos, 35, made the gruesome discovery as she left the house in Rio de Janeiro for work early yesterday morning.

The player's eyes and tongue had been cut out and his head placed inside one of his own rucksacks, police said. Mr Santos retired from football two years ago after a successful career playing for several teams in Rio de Janeiro, as well as for clubs in Sweden and Honduras.

He had recently set up his own business selling health foods and dietary supplements. Continue...

Police said today that Mr Santos is believed to have been snatched from outside the shop he had opened in the Realengo district of Rio as he closed up at around 7.45pm on Monday.

Witnesses said they saw several men bundling him into his car, a Hyundai i30, and speeding off just before midnight, a spokesman said. He was reported missing by his wife at 9pm on Monday.

Mr Santos' brother-in-law, who didn't want to be named, told Brazil's Globo G1 website that the player's wife, Geisa Silva, 31, stayed up all night after her husband failed to arrive home.

He said: 'Every time a car passed by she would go to see.

'She was getting ready to go to work at around 5.30am when she heard a noise, opened the front door and saw his rucksack.

'When she opened it she discovered it contained his head.

'I did not want to look but the people who saw it said they had gouged out his eyes and cut off his tongue,' said the horrified relative.

Neighbours living close to the crime scene reported hearing a woman screaming: 'My God, it's Joao! It’s Joao’s head.'

From what I know, he didn't have any enemies and neither did his wife,' the relative added. In a statement Mr Santos' widow said the couple had not been subjected to any threats.

Lead murder investigator Rafael Rangel from the 14th Military Police Battalion (BPM) in Rio, said witnesses saw armed men kidnap the businessman. 'We believe that the people who took him knew the family’s routine,' said Rangel.

Investigators are working on the hypothesis that Mr Santos could have been murdered by a drugs gang because of Mrs Silva's work at a military police base in a local slum.

The Police Pacification Unit in the Morro do Sao Carlos is one of dozens set up in Rio's favelas to retake control of the city's slums from violent drug traffickers.

However, according to police chief Rafael Rangel, Mrs Silva worked as a social worker in the base and didn't patrol the streets or make arrests like other police officers.

He told Brazil's O Dia newspaper the motives of the murder are still unclear.

He said: 'Mrs Silva has no idea who would have done this. Neither she, her husband or any other member of the family have suffered any type of threat as far as she knows.

'There is nothing that would justify such a barbarous crime.'

Santos did not have a police record.

Later today Brazilian police said body parts dumped beside a city river were believed to be those of Mr Santos.

The player's brother-in-law told Brazil's Globo G1 website that family members had positively identified a torso found next to the Guandu river in Queimados, greater Rio de Janeiro, by a birth mark on Mr Santos' stomach.

A police spokesman said other body parts had also been found in the area and were being DNA tested.

He said the murder bears the hallmarks of an execution by drug gangsters, but stressed that "every line of investigation" is still open.

The couple had been together for 11 years and were described as ‘lovely’ by neighbours.

'They were a happy, quiet couple,' said a neighbour, who asked not to be identified. 'But you never know what may have motivated a crime as stupid and as senseless as this.'

Mr Santos’ played as a professional footballer between 1996 and 2005 - during which he scored 33 goals in 103 matches as a striker.  Nicknamed Humble Hero, he was signed to a number of second division teams. He also played abroad for Swedish Club Oster Vaxjo  and Olimpia in Honduras.

A recent United Nations report into drug trafficking-related crime in Brazil found that more than half of the homicides, robberies and thefts have a direct or indirect link with this criminal activity.

( Rumour)Future Gives Fans Phone Number On Twitter

Future was minding his super human business and then he did something way too human. He tweeted his phone number for all to see. He deleted the tweet quickly, but it was not done fast enough. Soon, people were texting him and making allegations. The main allegation that has spread is that he was sending his number to other women. The only thing is that he just got engaged to Ciara so people are saying he’s ALREADY cheating. The truth is, nobody really knows. IT WAS A NUMBER! The number could be to anybody for anything. People that have called or texted the number have gotten nothing but v-mail and no responses. Don’t expect to get them either.
Somewhere, Mike Jones is laughing.
Future is keeping it moving though. He’s still touring with Drake and he’s got a new song with Miley “You Gonna Love Me” Cyrus

Ronaldo reply Sepp Blatter

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has responded angrily to a video of FIFA president Sepp Blatter imitating him and describing him as a “commander on the field.” Speaking at an event at Oxford University last week, Blatter said he preferred four-time World Player of the Year Lionel Messi to Ronaldo, who he claimed spends more money on his hairstyle than the Argentine. Ronaldo has finished second to Messi in three of the last four years in the voting for the Ballon d’Or, although the Portuguese did win the award whilst still at Manchester United in 2008. And both men were once again selected in the shortlist of 23 for this year’s award which was released on Tuesday. “This video shows clearly the respect and consideration that FIFA has for me, for my club and my country,” Ronaldo said on his official Facebook page. “Much is explained now. I wish Mr. Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty that he will continue to witness, as he deserves, the successes of his favourite teams and players.” The comments also enraged Ronaldo’s club and country as both Real Madrid and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) sent letters to FIFA to complain about Blatter’s conduct. However, in a reply to Madrid, published on the club’s website, Blatter defended his comments and said he believes Ronaldo is on a par with Messi as a player. “In response to a question about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the moderator asked me to choose between one of the two and, in this moment having commented that Messi is the type of son all mothers would like to have, I ended up saying his name. “However, I want to make it clear that for me Cristiano Ronaldo is at the same level as Messi and that they are both exceptional players, each one in their own way. “It was never my intention to upset or show a lack of respect towards Real Madrid, one of their players or their fans.” Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti said the comments lacked respect for a player he described as a “great professional”. “It seems to me like a lack of respect,” remarked the Italian. “I haven’t spoken with Cristiano about it. Today he trained very well as he always does. “He shows every day that he is a great player. He is serious, professional and respects everyone.” And a statement on behalf of FPF president Fernando Gomes on the federation’s website was even more damming of Blatter’s behaviour. “I can’t, in any way, agree with the position expressed by the person who leads world football in his comments about the national team and about someone who is a symbol of Portuguese football,” he said. “Moreover, they seem unfit and inappropriate and clearly show a lack of respect for Cristiano Ronaldo and for Portugal. “We learned today that Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the nominees for the Ballon d’Or, it does not seem appropriate or adequate that the president of FIFA makes comments saying which player he prefers between one or other.”

(End Time) Prophet Caught Attempting To Rape His Church Member In Lagos

A 35-year-old prophet, Favour Emmanuel, on Monday appeared before an Ojokoro Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, and charged with attempt to r*pe his client. Emmanuel, who resides in Adedokun Street, Baruwa, Ipaja, was arraigned on four-count charge of attempted r*pe, undressing without consent, breach of peace and provocation . The prosecutor, Insp. Clara Olagbayi, told the court that the offence was committed at the accused office in Baruwa Ipaja on Oct. 21. Olagbayi said the complainant went to the prophet for prayer, but the accused assaulted her by undressing her and was about raping her when she cried out for help. She said it was the screaming of the complainant that attracted the neighbours, who then rescued her and reported the incidence to the police. The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections, 134, 185, 188 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The accused pleaded not guilty. The Magistrate, Mrs A.0 Layinka, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in the like sum. She adjourned the case to Nov. 29, for mention.

14-Year-Old Boy, Rapes Nine-year-old girl to death

The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.
According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.
He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.
The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013.
He said, “Up until my daughter’s death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her vagina, stomach area. We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital.
“A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse. I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter.
“She told me that it was her school proprietor’s son, Onyi, that had been raping her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it.”
The indigene of Ondo State told Us that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.
A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo’s family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day.
“On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been raping my daughter prior to her death,’ Jigo said.
We learnt that after the girl’s demise, irate youths in the area attempted to lynch the 14-year-old boy.
The bereaved father was said to have intervened and reported the matter to a nearby police station, where the teenager was held for safe keeping. The next morning, Onyi and his parents travelled back to Lagos.
The alleged rapist’s parents, in company with a chief in Ikorodu, reportedly visited Jigo when he returned to Lagos. The group were said to have pleaded that the bereaved father should not pursue the case but he refused.
Jigo said, “I went to the Ikorodu Police station to report the case but was surprised when the policemen on duty said I should not write any statement.  They only told me to write down my telephone number and said they would call me later.
“After waiting for many days without any call, I wrote a petition and the matter was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.”
It was however learnt that Onyi had been taken to his father’s hometown in Delta State thereby stalling police investigation.
The teenager’s parents,  however described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.
The 14-year-old boy’s father, Andrew Adimabua, said, “I trained that boy in the way of the Lord and expected so much from him. He has confessed to the act; there is nothing to hide. He told me that he learnt about sex by watching blue (pornographic) films.
“We are not hiding him and we will cooperate with the police. On the day the little girl died, he was beaten up and made to stay in the rain for hours. As a result, he contracted pneumonia so we sent him home for treatment. When he recovers, he’ll be taken to the police for questioning.”
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.
Braide said Onyi would be re-arrested in the course of investigation.
“It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested.

Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade,  said, “I understand the suspect had a South African passport. I have ordered a thorough investigation into the case. I also wish to appeal to members of the public to resist any attempt to smuggle and abuse drugs. Magnus will be charged to court at the conclusion of our investigation.”

ANOTHER plane crash averted in abuja

Another day, another plane mishap news. Another air disaster was averted at the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja yesterday Monday October 28th as a Med-View Airlines aircraft carrying 150 passengers from Lagos suddenly took to the air again at the point of landing in Abuja, Punch reports.
The pilot told the passengers that he took to the air again to avoid a collision with another aircraft on the tarmac. The airline Flight VL2104 took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos at noon and was scheduled to land in Abuja at about 1.05pm.
The pilot had already announced final descent into Abuja and asked all passengers and cabin crew to fasten their seat belts but the pilot suddenly took off to the air again with barely 30 seconds to touch ground.
After about three minutes of gaining altitude, the pilot announced that he decided to take off again to avoid colliding with an aircraft that was on ground.
He said that after he had been granted clearance to land, it was later discovered that the other aircraft was not fast enough, hence his decision to take off.
The aircraft hovered for another 20mins in the air before finally landing at about 1.30pm

GEJ boycott ODUAH as another minister was made to sign

The Bilateral Air Services Agreement is supposed to be signed by Nigeria's Minister of Aviation but when it happened a few days ago in Israel, it wasn't Stella Oduah that signed it. In a move to show that he is serious about probing Ms Oduah over the N225m bulletproof cars bought for her by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, President Jonathan asked the Minister of State I, Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, to sign the agreement on behalf of the Federal Government. (Pictured above).

Thing is, BASA has nothing to do with the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The other thing is, Stella Oduah was present at the signing...but she sat with other Nigerian delegates as an observer.

While explaining why she joined Pres. Jonathan's delegation to Israel last week, her special adviser on media, Mr. Joe Obi, said it was to sign the BASA. President Jonathan decided at the last minute to keep her from signing on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria. See a pic of Stella Oduah at the BASA signing after the cut...

DC police: Chris Brown, companion threw punches

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chris Brown is accused of punching a man who says he tried to get into a photo with the singer outside a hotel, according to police, the latest legal trouble for the Grammy Award-winning artist.
The 24-year-old singer is expected to appear in court Monday on a felony assault charge. Another man, Christopher Hollosy, also was charged with felony assault in the altercation that started just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, police say. It happened near the W Hotel, not far from the White House.
Police would not say how Hollosy and Brown may have known each other.
The altercation began after the man tried to get into a picture with Brown and two other people, according to his account in the police report, which also quotes the man as saying Brown told him, "I'm not down with that gay s---" and "I feel like boxing." The exact context of Brown's remarks was not immediately clear.
The man told police Brown punched him in the face, and police say the area around his nose was swollen and bruised. Another man stepped between them and also punched the man before grabbing Brown by the arm and leading him toward the tour bus, according to the report.
Brown and Hollosy, 35, were being held pending a court hearing Monday.
The two men are not named in the police report, which refers only to "S1" and "S2" and their ages and physical descriptions. But police department spokesman Anthony Clay confirmed Monday that "S1" in the report's narrative referred to Brown, while "S2" referred to Hollosy.
Neither Brown's publicists nor his attorney Mark Geragos responded to messages left Sunday. A local lawyer for Brown did not immediately return a message Monday seeking comment, and Hollosy's attorney declined comment Monday ahead of the court appearance.
Police identified the man who was punched as 20-year-old Parker Isaac Adams after an initial police report indicated a slightly different name.He was released Sunday from a hospital and did not immediately respond to a message left at a number listed for him.
His uncle, Creighton Adams, said he was told by the victim's father that Parker Adams was out on a double date when he was punched.
"Parker's not some kind of hoodlum," Creighton Adams said.
Abraham Luakabuanga of Tysons Corner, Va., who runs a small limousine company, said he saw two women and a man approach Brown after he left the hotel and begin taking photographs of the singer. He said the situation soon devolved into a fight involving Brown and a man who appeared to be his bodyguard. He said he heard words exchanged but declined to give more details.
"I looked at Chris Brown and was like 'Sir, why this?' he said. "To me, it was like, 'You're a star, you have bodyguards.' Things should have been handled differently," Luakabuanga said.
Brown was in Washington to perform Saturday night at an event billed as a "Homecoming Weekend" party at a downtown club. Howard University was celebrating its homecoming, though a university spokeswoman said the party was not sponsored by or affiliated with the school.
Brown remains on probation for assaulting his on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna in 2009 just before the Grammy Awards. The photos of Rihanna's bruised face caused outrage among many fans. Brown pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault and received five years' probation.
His probation was briefly revoked earlier this year after a traffic accident. A hit-and-run charge was dropped against him, but the judge gave him 1,000 more hours of community service when he reinstated his probation.
Brown, who lives in Los Angeles and is originally from Virginia, has been involved in other altercations since 2009. Police have said a 2012 brawl at a New York nightclub began when members of rapper Drake's entourage confronted Brown on the dance floor. Neither was charged in the fight that turned into a bottle-throwing free-for-all.
Brown also tussled with singer Frank Ocean and others during an argument about a parking space outside a recording studio in Los Angeles, according to witness accounts given to deputies at the time. Ocean said he suffered an injured finger, but no charges were filed.
Brown's arrest could affect his probation in the Rihanna assault case. Brown is due back in court Nov. 20 in Los Angeles to update a judge on his probation. Prosecutors could seek a revocation of his probation or ask a judge to impose additional penalties.
Steve Cron, a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney, said prosecutors and a judge may wait to see how the Washington case plays out before taking any action against Brown.
"Just the fact that some guy says 'he hit me' doesn't mean he's in violation" of his probation, Cron said.
The potential penalties would depend on the exact wording of Brown's sentence, he said.

Sign of end time? Mysterious figures at Chelsea stadium

A bit of news from the world of football.
11 strange men in black robes (can you spot them in the pic above?) caused a stir at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge yesterday Sunday October 27th during the Chelsea vs Manchester City clash.

Goal.com reports that the hooded men, who had mysterious circles on their chest, were seen making curious synchronised movements at irregular intervals during Chelsea's 2-1 win, while they also stood in unison at random moments.
Situated three rows back from the corner flag at the Shed End, the gang could be clearly seen on TV cameras beaming pictures of the crunch fixture all across the world.
One Chelsea fan sat close to the mysterious guests was Robin Taylor, who said afterwards that he was slightly perturbed by their presence.

"We're used to a few different characters down at Chelsea, there was once even a guy brushing his teeth behind the bench at a game, but we've had nothing quite like this before," he said
