Burkina-Faso sets parliament building and National TV Station ablazed
Anti-government
protesters in Burkina Faso today set their National parliament ablaze
following a decision by members of parliament to review the country's
constitution to allow President Blaise Compaore extend his 27-year rule.
The parliament members were due
to vote on a change on their constitution which would allow the sitting
president, Blaise Compaore - who took power in a coup in 1987 - to
stand for re-election again next year, when he was due to stand down.
Burkina Faso sets their parliament building ablaze after members tried to elongate the regime of their current leader who has been ruling them for almost 27years,The angry protesters who did not buy into the proposed constitution review stormed
the National Assembly building in the capital Ouagadougou, ransacking
offices and setting fire to cars, before attacking the national
television headquarters. At least one person died in the mayhem.
One
of the protesters said;
The violence forced the government to temporarily scrap a vote on the constitutional amendments. Relative calm has since returned to the capital city. See pics from the mayhem below..."We did this because Blaise was trying to stay too long. We are tired of him. We want a change. He must go!”

NDLEA asked his boys to give me 24 Lashes of Cane-BABASUWE
Just a drop of bad information can ruin people's life and career,Baba Suwe is still nursing damages resulting from his arrest for suspected cocaine smuggling .The veteran yoruba comedian and actor has maintained his innocence and is still demanding for an apology from the NDLEA (National Drug Law Enforcement Agency ),to help salvage his reputation.
In an interview with Nigerian Tribune, he revealed how it all started
It is a long story. What they did tarnished my image. It really hurt me. Theatre is the only way I make money and when my films hit Idumota, it makes the most sales in the industry. I make money from my rental business and as a master of ceremony within and outside Nigeria. The incident affected all that.
The trip I wanted to make when the incident happened was for a friend’s baby’s naming ceremony. I was asked to be the MC at the christening ceremony. I just got back from London about a month before then, from a movie production with Sanyeri. I was at the airport that day with my sibling and a friend.
My friend even had with him, dundu (fried yam) and akara (bean cakes) which we ate at the airport. That was around 8.30 p.m.
