KimKanye wedding May be Televised

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West  only gotten engaged last month, but the couple are already talking about their wedding -- and who may or may not be able to get a peek inside their big day! Sources tell Us Weekly in its Dec. 2 issue that the parents to 5-month-old North West are contemplating on the idea to televise their marriage.

"If they choose to film the wedding, it will be filmed by them, not a TV crew," an insider reveals to Us. "And they'd sell it to a network."
Though a rep for the first-time mom says the couple of two years haven't made a final decision just yet, the wedding will be "magnificent" yet (believe it or not!) "on the small side."
Kardashian is, of course, no stranger to publicly declaring her vows for the world to see. In August 2011, the reality star said "I do" to NBA player Kris Humphries in an extravagant $10 million ceremony in Montecito, Calif. After just 72 days of marriage, Kardashian filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences." The divorce was finalized in June 2013.
Either Televising it or not Kim/Kanye we wish you the Best

Registrar of the state-owned university, R. B. Olotu in a statement in Akure directed the students to resume on Monday, November 25 for the second semester 2012/2013 session.
But in a swift reaction, the ASUU Chapter of the university  dissociated itself from the purported resumption of academic activities in the university.
The Chapter’s chairperson,  Busuyi Mekusi  in a statement  asked members to disregard the directive.
Mekusi  said: “ASUU Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko Branch, wishes to dissociate itself from the purported resumption of academic activities in the university, as its members are still part of the ongoing national strike by the union.
“Members should, therefore, disregard any pull to abandon the struggle, and be steadfast until the present position is reviewed by NEC.
“ The union also wants to make it abundantly clear that it would resist every tyrannical propensity to intimidate and harass its members.”
The Registrar in his statement entitled: ‘Resumption for the  2nd semester  2012/2013 session’ directed  all the students of university to resume.
“All the students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, are hereby informed that academic activities of the second semester of 2012/2013 session truncated as a result of the ASUU national strike are to resume on Monday, 25th November, 2013 with the continuation of registration on the University portal (http://portal.aaua.edu.ng).
“Lectures are to start on Monday, 2nd December, 2013
It will be recalled that the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Femi Mimiko had about a month ago expressed worries over the continued closure of the university by Ondo State.
Prof. Mimiko threatened that he would recall the students if the four month old strike action was not suspended.
Happy Resumption to all the Students

WOW! Tony Elumelu made $123Million in 21days

Although, It’s just paper gains, but it counts. Nigerian banker Tony O. Elumelu has become at least $123 million richer between November 1 and November 21 as shares of Transcorp PLC, a Nigerian-Stock Exchange-listed conglomerate, surged 186% in that period.
Transnational Corporation Of Nigeria, usually referred to as Transcorp, is an emerging conglomerate holding investments in hotels, power and agriculture. On November 1, the company’s stock was trading at N1.87 ($0.01), and at the close of trading yesterday(Thursday), the stock was trading at N5.35 ($5.35). According to an analyst who did not want to be quoted, there has been an unprecedented demand for Transcorp’s shares at the bourse on account of the company’s recent acquisition of the Ughelli Power plant, a strategic power generation company that the government recently sold in a privatization exercise.

Transcorp PLC, under Elumelu’s leadership, acquired the plant for $300 million. Transcorp officially took over the plant on November 1. Investors are scrambling for the stock in anticipation of the long-term impact the new acquisition will likely have on Transcorp’s financial results.

Elumelu began gobbling up shares in the company in April 2011 through his wholly-owned proprietary investment vehicle, Heirs Holdings. In September 2011, he was appointed chairman of the company, promising to diversify the company’s business interests and deliver value to shareholders – promises he seems to have delivered on. He currently owns over 5.7 billion shares of the company (5,745,890,693 to be exact, according to Transcorp’s latest corporate filings), held in his own name and via Heirs Holdings, equating to a 22.26% stake, making him the company’s largest individual shareholder. His shares in Transcorp alone are now valued at N30.7 billion or $188 million.  A representative for Elumelu could not be reached for comment at press time.

Elumelu made his fortune by acquiring a small, struggling Nigerian commercial bank and building it into the United Bank of Africa Group, a leading financial services institution with operations in several African countries as well as in New York and London. He stepped down as the bank’s CEO in 2010 to focus on investing in African businesses through his private investment vehicle, Heirs Holdings and to groom Africa’s next generation of business leaders through his Tony Elumelu Foundation.

EFCC begins Fresh Case with Adeyemi ikuforiji

The trial of the Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, and his aide, Mr. Oyebode Atoyebi, resumed yesterday at a Federal High Court in Lagos.
A witness testifying on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, alleged that Ikuforiji and Atoyebi, engaged in about 57 monetary transactions without passing through financial institutions as required by law.
Both men are being prosecuted by the EFCC on a 54-count charge bordering on receiving over N600 million from the Lagos State House of Assembly without passing through a financial institution in contravention of the law.
The offences, allegedly committed between April 2010 and July 2011, were said to contravene Section 18 (a) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011.
The trial was midway before the former trial judge, Justice Okechukwu Okeke, whose retirement, a few months ago, necessitated that the matter should start afresh.
At the fresh trial which started before Justice Ibrahim Buba yesterday, the first witness called by the prosecution, Mr. Adeniyi Adebayo, who is an EFCC investigator, alleged in his testimony that the cash transactions, which the Speaker in collaboration with his aide engaged in, were above the threshold prescribed by the Money Laundering Act.
In an examination-inchief conducted by the EFCC counsel, Mr. Godwin Obla (SAN), Adebayo said the EFCC received a petition concerning alleged siphoning of public funds against the speaker.

BOKO HARAM attack foiled by SSS in Kogi State

The State Security Service (SSS) today in Abuja paraded five suspected Boko Haram members alleged to have planned deadly attacks on Igala, Kogi State.
Among the suspects were Dr. Mohammad Nazeef Yunus, an Assistant Lecturer in Arabic and Islamic Studies at Kogi State University.  He was said to be the Spiritual Leader and Coordinator for Boko Haram in the State, and the leader of the gang.
Nazeef, who was born in Idah, Kogi State, attended the Arabic Central Primary School in that town, and El-Kanemi College, Maiduguri.  He also studied at the Islamic School, University of Medina, in Saudi Arabia and served in the National Youth Service Corp in 1995 at Al-Iman Secondary School, Dogon Dutse, in Jos.
Nazeef earned a Masters Degree in Arabic from the University of Jos.  Just last year, he earned a Ph.D in Islamic Studies from Kogi State University.
Also arrested by the SSS were Umar Musa (Instructor), Mustapha Yusuf, Ismaila Yunusa, Mohammed Nasir, and Ibrahim Isa.
SSS spokesperson Marilyn Ogar said the suspects were planning to carry out an attack on Igala Land but were arrested at Zuba white mosque near Abuja on their way to Zambisa in Maiduguri for training.  They were also going to install Sharia in Kogi State.
Umar Musa (Head of Operations/Instructor) confessed publicly that he was employed by Boko Haram as Instructor after he lost his job with the state teaching hospital, and was taken to the Sambisa camp of the sect for a week’s training on handling weapons.  He said he was deployed to the education unit of the camp as Munzi (instructor) and placed on a monthly salary of N50,000. He further stated that he and Yusuf later returned from Sambisa and re-united with Nazeef in Kogi State where they plotted to carry out violent attacks in Igala land.  He maintained that Nazeef appointed him the Head of Operations and munzir.
Mustapha Yusuf (Armourer/Chief Courier) and Ismaila Abdulazeez (Foot soldier) confessed that that Nazeef was their teacher who teaches them Jihad and Islamic Sharia.

NIGERIAN Student jailed for 21month in UK

A bogus bride was caught out because she 'flinched' when her phoney husband-to-be touched her knee in a register office.
Emilia Ginova, 22, was jailed today for posing as a blushing bride ready to walk up the aisle with her groom.
She was caught out by an eagle-eyed registrar who spotted her shocked reaction when Esene, 28, reached out to touch her leg.
Registration officer Donna Davies said: 'The groom tried to touch the bride’s knee but she looked very uncomfortable.
'She flinched and there was no interaction at all. I knew it was a scam.'
But a court heard Ginova had only first seen Nigerian student Louis Esene on the day of the service - and was being paid £3,000 to take part in the sham marriage.
The marriage was stopped - and the pair were both arrested at the register office in Pontypridd, South Wales.
It was later revealed that Esene wanted to stay in Britain because his visa had run out.
The court was told a friend recruited Ginova - who is a Slovakian-born Roma - and was four months pregnant by another man at the time of the wedding.
Esene and Ginova pleaded guilty to conspiracy to facilitate a breach of immigration law.

Prosecutor Rachel Knight said: 'The registrar was suspicious of Esene and Ginova when they had notified their intent to wed as they could not communicate with each other.
'She did not find it convincing in any way.
'It was part and parcel of a plan to circumvent immigration rules, which would allow him to work, access to the NHS, social security and housing benefit.'
Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard the bogus bride and groom met first on November 22 last year - and spent the morning shopping for rings and a wedding dress.
But the court heard Esene lost his temper when Ginova failed to 'learn her lines properly' - and threatened he could put 'anyone in a dress'.
Both were jailed - Ginova, of Chatham, for 18 months and Esene, of Pontypridd, for 21 months.
Esene will be deported to Nigeria at the end of his sentence
Judge Richard Twomlow said: 'It strikes at the integrity of the importance of marriage.

ATTENTION!!! LAGOS declare LASTMA OFFICER WANTED

I hope you all remember this video that was posted last week about the LASTMA official that was demanding bribe from a traffic offender? If you miss it you can watch the VIDEO HERE.
The Lagos State Government has intensified effort to arrest a junior officer with Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Michael Ekundayo, for allegedly demanding and collecting bribe.
Ekundayo was allegedly caught on video collecting N8, 000 bribe from a motorist. Sources have, however, said that law enforcement agents may now go after Ekundayo’s relatives to assist them in producing the suspect who is now at large.
A source, did not want his name mentioned, told National Mirror that efforts to arrest the suspect had not yielded any result ever since the video spread like wildfire on the social media.
Ekundayo, a Grade Level 4 officer, who National Mirror learnt lived on 11 Fadeyi Street, Ilupeju, was caught redhanded demanding bribe from a motorist who is suspected to have deliberately broken the Lagos Traffic Law to expose corrupt law enforcement agents.
The source said: “Since Saturday, we have been looking for Ekundayo. Our provosts went to the house where he was said to be living before the incident. His mother said he had not becoming home since that day. But it is unfortunate that LASTMA lacks the power to arrest, it is the police that will do that. By the time his wife and other relatives are arrested, he will make himself available for arrest.”
Ekundayo had accused the motorist of beating the traffic light on Alfred Rewane Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. He was said to have stop the motorist at the Golden Gate Chinese Restaurant Junction, where an amateur video of his transaction with the offender was recorded and sent to the iWitness platform of Channels Television.
After having demanded N8, 000 bribe from the motorist, the suspect accompanied him to the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) to withdraw the cash to pay the bribe. According to the video footage, the motorist presented N4, 000 to the LASTMA officer, but he rejected it and was angry that the motorist broke the agreement to pay N8, 000, but later took the money after expressing his feelings, unknown that he was being recorded by hidden camera.
Meanwhile, the state government has promised to punish the officer, expressing regrets that the suspect could embark on such a disgraceful act in spite of efforts to train and retrain LASTMA personnel. In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, the government said it would take appropriate action against the suspect who, according to him, had not been found since the news broke. The government expressed regrets that the suspect could embark on such a disgraceful act in spite of the consistent training being given to all government officers and public servants in the state.

ASUU may hold its NEC meeting on friday

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may hold its postponed National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Friday to decide whether or not to suspend the indefinite strike it began since July 2.
A top official of ASUU, who preferred anonymity, disclosed this to Daily Independent in a telephone interview on Sunday.
He was, however, not certain if the NEC will still be held at the Bayero University, Kano where it was initially proposed to hold.
The leadership of the union postponed the scheduled Kano NEC meeting following the demise of one its key members, Festus Iyayi, who died last Tuesday in a ghastly motor accident on his way to Kano for the postponed NEC meeting.
The source noted that the union members are still grieved and are pre-occupied with the burial arrangement of the late Professor of Business Administration, who died along the Abuja-Lokoja highway in an accident caused by the convoy of Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada.
The source debunked speculations in the social media that ASUU has jettisoned its NEC indefinitely, saying the union postponed the NEC meeting as a mark of honour and respect for the late Iyayi.
According to him, all ASUU officials that were supposed to participate in the NEC meeting last week Wednesday had actually gathered at the Bayero University, Kano, but for the unfortunate accident which claimed the life of Iyayi and disrupted the agenda already set for the meeting.
Meanwhile, Supervisory Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, also at the weekend led a delegation of government on a condolence visit to the residence of the late academician in Benin City.
Wike assured that the Federal Government would diligently implement all the agreements it reached with ASUU in the course of the negotiations with President Goodluck Jonathan.
Those in the delegation of the minister include Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Julius Okojie, and some top officials of Federal Ministry of Education.
They also visited the injured ASUU National Welfare Officer, Ngozi Iloh, who is said to be responding to treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin.
In a statement in Abuja on Sunday, the Minister’s Special Assistant (Media), Simeon Nwakaudu, said Wike solicited the permission of the family to allow the Federal Government participate in the burial ceremony of the former ASUU president.
“President Goodluck Jonathan and the entire administration are deeply pained by the sudden death of the former ASUU National President who played a key part in the negotiations between ASUU and the Federal Government.
“We recall the significant contributions of Professor Iyayi during the 13-hour negotiations between President Jonathan and ASUU, which led to a headway in the discussions.
“I want to assure the family that the ideals that the late scholar fought and died for will never be forgotten. The Federal Government will diligently implement the decisions reached in the course of negotiations with ASUU.
“The Federal Ministry of Education wishes to be a part of the burial of this erudite scholar and we seek the permission of the family to participate in the burial. I pray God to grant the family the strength to bear this unfortunate loss,” Wike was quoted to have said.
Oriabure Iyayi, son of the late ASUU president, was said to have thanked President Jonathan, the Minister of Education and all Nigerians for commiserating with the family at their moment of grief.
A relative of the deceased, Prof. Robert Ebiwele, informed the minister that the burial will hold between December 5 and 9.
He assured that the family would inform the Federal Ministry of Education on the burial arrangements.

INCREDIBLE! Angry women protests against INEC in Anambra

IMG-20131117-00252.jpg
Hundreds of them could not vote on Saturday, due to the late arrival of electoral materials in their communities. The women said rescheduling the election to Sunday morning when most of them were in church was “a wicked act”by INEC. They sang songs depicting their anger, saying:“We no go gree oo, we no go gree, anyi aturo vote (we did not vote), we no go gree.” As they attempted the march on INEC headquarters in Awka, police officers stationed at the junction leading to the commission’s office stopped them. The women dared the police to shoot them, singing in Igbo:“Iwe na ewe anyi, ehh, iwe na ewe anyi, anyi aturo nu vote oo, iwe (we are angry because we didn’t not cast our votes).” One of the women said: “It’s our right to choose our leader. Jega promised us free and fair election, yet he failed us. “Election didn’t hold in many local government areas yet they are preparing to announce results. Which results do they want to announce? Where did they get the results? It is a rigged result.” ANigerianEYEcorrespondent in Akwa gathered that hundreds of women cried and rolled on the streets, cursing on INEC for depriving them of their constitutional rights to elect their leader.
