JOSE MOURINHO: but I would like Didier Drogba to come back

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wants to be paired with former Blues striker Didier Drogba's Galatasaray in the last 16 of the Champions League on Monday.
Drogba left Chelsea after eight years in June 2012, a year before Jose Mourinho returned for a second spell at Stamford Bridge.
"Galatasaray is very difficult but I would like Didier to come back here and feel what I felt," said Mourinho.

Blues could also meet Leverkusen, Zenit St Petersburg, Olympiakos or AC Milan.
Chelsea finished top of Group E courtesy of a 1-0 win over Romanian side Steaua Bucharest, ensuring they will not be drawn against fellow group winners Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
Under Uefa rules, they are not allowed to face a fellow English side in the last 16, or Group E rivals Schalke when the draw happens on Monday.
Mourinho believes there is stiff competition amongst Chelsea's potential opponents, even if he misses out on a reunion with Drogba, who scored 157 goals in 341 appearances for Chelsea before leaving for Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.
"In the second position we have difficult teams," he said.
"We have the Russian champions, we have the Greek champions.
"Leverkusen, as a German team, is always difficult. We have the Turkish champions with King Didier.

"And Milan is Milan. They only won seven times. It's hard."
Despite Chelsea's victory in the tournament in 2012, Mourinho has previously said his side's chances of winning the Champions League are "not comparable with those of other clubs" while he works on rebuilding the team.
However he admitted that could change depending on how their domestic campaign progresses before the competition resumes in mid-February.
"We will wait for the result of the draw, forget about the Champions League until February, March, and work to improve the team," he said.
"When we get results in the English competitions we are preparing ourselves for the next stage of the Champions League.
"Let's go for the last 16. If we win the last 16 and go to the quarter-final, in the quarter-final, only eight teams. We can think in a different way."

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G NEWS: Police Invade Rivers Assembly

According to "Punch"
Confusion once again enveloped the Rivers State House of Assembly on Thursday as the police stormed the Assembly complex, shooting live ammunition and firing teargas canisters to disperse the sitting of 25 lawmakers loyal to the State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.
The 25 lawmakers met to hold the first plenary in the House since it was sealed off in July following a bloody fracas in the Assembly.
The pro-Amaechi lawmakers had converged on the Assembly complex following the ruling of a Federal High Court in Abuja which declared as illegal the order of the National Assembly to take over the functions of the Rivers Assembly.
On Thursday, however, trouble started as the police barred the 25 lawmakers from entering the Assembly chambers while the stunned lawmakers resolved to hold their sitting outside the complex.
Confusion ensued when the police suddenly began shooting teargas and live ammunition at the lawmakers, who ran in different directions to avoid being hit by the live bullets while tears dripped from many of them from the impact of the teargas canisters fired by the police.
It could not be ascertained if there was any casualty or the number of people injured in the melee.
Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Leyii Kwani, presided over the sitting.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenitari, confirmed the invasion of ther Assembly by policemen, decrying the level of “impunity ravaging the country.”
She said, “It is an indication of the impunity ravaging the country and a clear indication that the PDP, under the present leadership, has lost all forms of democratic conduct.
“They can’t even pretend to wear a mien of civility. Rather, they are practising jackboot governance and repression worse than we have ever seen under the military.”
State Commissioner of  Police, Jospeh Mbu, could not be reached for comments.

Obasanjo's Letter is baseless -Mr President

President Jonathan  replied former President Olusegun Obasanjo's letter that was published yesterday Click Here if you miss it here is the reply from Mr President's Spokesman

We have noted the publication on several websites today of a letter recently written by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
The Presidency acknowledges that it has indeed received the said letter from Chief Obasanjo.
We however find it highly unbecoming, mischievous and provocative that a letter written by a former Head of State and respected elder statesman to President Jonathan  has been deliberately leaked to the mass media in a deplorable effort to impugn the integrity of the President and denigrate his commitment to giving Nigeria the best possible leadership.

While many patriotic, objective and well-meaning Nigerians have already condemned the leaked letter as self-serving, hypocritical, malicious, indecent, and very disrespectful of the highest office in the land, President Jonathan has directed that none of his aides or any government official should join issues with Chief Obasanjo over it.

The President himself will, at the appropriate time, offer a full personal response to the most reckless, baseless, unjustifiable and indecorous charges levied against him and his administration by the former Head of State.

OBJ accuses Pres GEJ of destroying Nigeria

An apparently angry and frustrated ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo has written what clearly competes as one of the most acerbic letters in modern history to President Goodluck Jonathan, accusing him of ineptitude and of taking actions calculated at destroying Nigeria.
“Nigeria is bleeding and the hemorrhage must be stopped,” Mr. Obasanjo said in the 18-page letter dated December 2, 2013 and exclusively obtained by PREMIUM TIMES Tuesday.
He said Mr. Jonathan has failed to deliver on his promises to the Nigerian people, stem corruption, promote national unity and strengthen national security.
He said in the letter titled “Before it is too late” that rather than take steps to advance Nigeria’s interest and up the standards of living of Nigerians, Mr. Jonathan had betrayed God and the Nigerian people that brought him to power, and has been pursuing selfish personal and political interests based on advice he receives from “self-centred aides”.
In the detailed letter, dripping of anger , frustration and what appears a genuine concern to rescue a nation on the brink, Mr. Obasanjo lamented that Mr. Jonathan had become terribly divisive and clannish, destroying his own party, polarizing the country along regional and religious lines and ridiculing Nigeria in the comity of nations.
Without mincing words, Mr. Obasanjo blamed Mr. Jonathan for the crises tearing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, apart.
He said apart from using party chairman Bamanga Tukur to cause multiple crises and divide the ranks of the party, the president’s failure to keep a promise he made not to seek a second term is also generating tension within the ruling party.
“It would be unfair to continue to level full blames on the Chairman (Tukur) for all that goes wrong with the party,” Mr. Obasanjo said. “The chairman is playing the tune dictated by the paymaster (Jonathan). But the paymaster is acting for a definitive purpose for which deceit and deception seem to be the major ingredients.
“Up till two months ago, Mr. President, you told me that you have not told anybody that you would contest in 2015. I quickly pointed out to you that the signs and the measures on the ground do not tally with your statement. You said the same to one other person who shared his observation with me. And only a fool would believe that statement you made to me judging by what is going on. I must say it is not ingenious. You may wish to pursue a more credible and more honorable path.”
The former President said Mr. Jonathan told him before the 2011 election he would not seek a second term, and made the same promise to governors, party stakeholders and Nigerians.
The president’s refusal to keep that promise cast him as a man without honour, Mr. Obasanjo said.
Saying it would be “fatally morally flawed” for Mr. Jonathan to contest in 2015, Mr. Obasanjo added, “As a leader, two things you must cherish and hold dear among others are trust and honour both of which are important ingredients of character. I will want to see anyone in the Office of the Presidency of Nigeria as a man or woman who can be trusted, a person of honour in his words and character.”
Mr. Obasanjo also accused Mr. Jonathan of anti-party conducts – supporting opposition parties’ candidates in governorship elections in Lagos, Ondo, Edo and Anambra states at the detriment of PDP’s own candidates –, and of pitting party members against one another.
Saying the President had failed to address the underlying causes of the Boko Haram menace, Mr. Obasanjo urged Mr. Jonathan to adopt a carrot and stick approach in dealing with the insurgency explaining that “conventional military actions based on standard phases of military operations alone will not permanently and effectively deal with the issue of Boko Haram”.
Mr. Obasanjo also tackled Mr. Jonathan for allegedly being clannish. “For you to allow yourself to be “possessed”, so to say, to the exclusion of most of the rest of Nigerians as an “Ijaw man” is a mistake that should never have been allowed to happen. Yes, you have to be born in one part of Nigeria to be Nigerian if not naturalized but the Nigerian President must be above ethnic factionalism. And those who prop you up as of, and for ‘Ijaw nation’ are not your friends genuinely, not friends of Nigeria nor friends of ‘Ijaw nation’ they tout about.
“To allow or tacitly encourage people of ‘Ijaw nation’ to throw insults on other Nigerians from other parts of the country and threaten fire and brimstone to protect your interest as an Ijaw man is myopic and your not openly quieting them is even more unfortunate.
Two Ijaw men, ex-militant Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, and a former federal commissioner for information,    Edwin Clark, who carries himself around as the political godfather of the president, are known to talk down on people opposed to the president.
Mr. Obasanjo also accused Mr. Jonathan of placing over 1000 Nigerians on political watch list and “training snipers and other armed personnel secretly and clandestinely acquiring weapons to match for political purposes like Abacha and training them where Abacha trained his killers”.
He wondered why the Presidency was providing assistance for a murderer to evade justice.
“Presidential assistance for a murderer to evade justice and presidential delegation to welcome him home can only be in bad taste generally but particularly to the family of his victim,” Mr. Obasanjo said. “Assisting criminals to evade justice cannot be part of the job of the presidency. Or, as it is viwed in some quarters, is he being recruited to do for you what he had done for Abacha in the past? Hopefully, he should have learned his lesson. Let us continue to watch.”
Mr. Obasanjo did not mention the name of the murderer he accused the President of protecting but he seems to be referring to Hamza Al-Mustapha, a former security aide to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, who is facing trial for allegedly masterminding the killing of Kudirat Abiola, the wife of Moshood Abiola, the winner of the annulled 1993 presidential election.
Mr. Al-Mustapha was freed by the appeal court in July but the Lagos state government has since appealed the judgment at the Supreme Court.
The former President also called on the National Assembly to rise up and take decisive action over the recent allegation in the country that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation failed to remit billions of dollars in proceeds of crude oil sales to the federation account.
“This allegation will not fly away by non-action, cover-up, denial or bribing possible investigators,” Mr. Obasanjo told the President. “Please deal with this allegation transparently and let the truth be known.
“The dramatis personae in this allegation and who they are working for will one day be public knowledge. Those who know are watching if the National Assembly will not be accomplice in the heinous crime and naked grand corruption. May God grant you the grace for at least one effective corrective action against high corruption which seems to stink all around you in your government.”
Mr. Obasanjo said he wrote the letter in the national interest, saying nothing, at this stage of his life, would prevent him from standing up for whatever he considers to be in the best interest of Nigeria, Africa and the world.
He said he was ready for whatever backlash his letter would provoke from the presidency.
“Knowing what happens around you most of which you know of and condone or deny, this letter will proke cacophony from hired and unhired attackers but I will maintain my serenity because by this letter, I have done my duty to you as I have always done, to your government, to the party, PDP, and to our country, Nigeria…,” Mr. Obasanjo said.
“I have passed the stage of being flattered, intimidated, threatened, frightened, induced or bought… Death is the end of all human beings and may it come when God wills it to come.”

Former Nigerian diplomat in court for allegedly demanding sex from female colleague

According to a report by Daily Mail, a Nigerian doctor & former diplomat, Dr Chukwuma Igbokwe, (pictured above) is in court, accused of bullying and sexually harassing his junior colleague.
A doctor and former diplomat grabbed a female colleague from behind and thrust himself towards her before exposing himself and suggesting she performed a sex act, a tribunal heard. Dr Chukwuma Igbokwe, 46, also asked the woman for sex on his desk, it has been claimed. The former Consul to the UK of the Republic of Niger is accused of bullying and harassing his junior colleague in his role as director of St Luke’s Healthcare group. Vanessa Turley, 42, was allegedly subjected to an ‘onslaught of sexual innuendo’ and verbal abuse when she worked with Igbokwe at a private hospital in Ebbw Vale, south Wales, between March 2008 and July 2010.

She told the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service how she quit her job and took legal action to stop Igbokwe when she realised she may not be his only victim.

'It was just never ending with him,’ she said giving evidence.

'I thought he’s got to stop this. People came to me and said it was happening to them.

'I thought "when is this guy going to stop".

'The only person who had enough evidence to go forward was myself.'

Referred to as 'Mrs A' during the current proceedings, she told the panel she felt the police did not take her seriously when she complained, but was vindicated when she won an employment tribunal against her former bosses last year.

She said: 'It was never about the money. It was about proving to people what he was like as a person and what he put me through.'

She added: 'I was trying to stop him doing it to other females because in my eyes he had no respect at all no matter what your position in the company. It was a conquest.'

Igbokwe was not present or represented at a fitness to practise hearing in Manchester where he could be struck off the medical register if the string of misconduct allegations against him are proved.

One of the charges relates to a 'Mayor’s ball' held in his honour in his role as Niger’s Consul to the UK in November 2009 when he made a sexual innuendo towards her.

After the incident he then quizzed her in the tea room at St Luke’s about why she had told people what he had said, the hearing was told.

On another occasion, on April 9, 2010, Igbokwe is said to have called her into his office and held her hips from behind.

He then thrust himself against her, told her to sit down, exposed his privates and gestured to her to perform a sex act.

'He touched me on a previous occasion, but the actual grabbing was the same time when he exposed himself and actually grabbed me from behind,' said Mrs Turley.

She said he was aggressive and rude to her, asking her to bring him dinner or make his tea.

But it was in June 2008 that he is alleged to have called her into his office and said: 'Because I want to f**k you over my desk.'

Mrs Turley told the panel: 'I'm from a deprived working area and I was devastated.

'Most nights coming home and on Sundays not wanting to face the next day.

'The harassment started back up again because he was thinking I was going to say something and made my life and working environment unbearable to try to make me finish on my own.

'But when I didn’t report it he started up an onslaught of sexual innuendo and text messages again because he got away with it the first time.'

The panel heard Igbokwe would 'make eyes' at her when they were working in the same room and ask her to meet at local hotels.

Even when she had left her job and was pursuing legal action against Igbokwe she claims the harassment didn’t stop.

She received pornographic emails, which were sometimes opened by her husband and children, and was told by friends they had seen a suspicious silver Mercedes following her.

'It was just unreal, my life. I’m trying to start to get it back together, but it’s still there. I just want to shut the book on it,' she said.

'I feel I have moved on a lot, but to talk about it, when I go into any detail and depth I get upset because I think was there anything that I did,' she added.

'I am a lot stronger person now for what I have done.'

The hearing continues.

Gov Okorocha converted APGA Secretariat to APC

As the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has concluded plans to file a suit to challenge the defection of Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, the governor has finally converted former APGA secretariat in the state to APC headquarters.
The governor, who was at the secretariat for a political meeting said that the South East geo-political zone has better prospects if APC takes the day in the Nigerian politics. But Alhaji Sanni Shinkafi, the National Secretary of APGA, said shortly after attending INEC/ political parties meeting in Abuja on Monday that APGA would challenge Okorocha’s defection to APC.
Okorocha defected to the APC while celebrating his two years in office in May, saying, “the APC has the potential to push the state nearer to the “federal eye.” Shinkafi explained that it was “morally wrong” for an incumbent governor to dump a political party under which platform he came to power.
However, Okorocha explained that his defection to the APC was to salvage the state and the South East geo-political zone from the misrule of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, pointing out that the zone had suffered marginalisation as the ruling PDP has no plans for Ndigbo.
According to him, “the PDP is fully settled because there is no Igbo man as president, no Igbo man as Vice President, no Igbo man as speaker, no Igbo man as Senate President and no Igbo man as Chairman of the party.”
Good Luck to Mr Okorocha

RECORD BREAKER! URUGUAY to legalize Marijuana sales

South American country Uruguay is set to become the first country in the world to allow its citizens to grow, sell, buy and smoke marijuana. The country's Senate began its final debate on the issue today Tuesday Dec. 10th and claim they want to legalize it in a bid to take the business from criminals.

If this bill, which has the support of majority of the House and the president of the country, is passed, Uruguay will be the first country to legalize a trade that is illegal everywhere else in the world.

After the trade is made legal, Uruguay will then draft regulations imposing state control over the cultivation and distribution of marijuana. Anyone who wants to go into the business would have to be licensed and registered, with government monitors keeping tabs to enforce limits, such as the 40 grams a month that any adult will be able to buy at pharmacies for any reason.
