B'Haram strike again killing at least 33 people in Borno State

The Islamic sect men struck again yesterday March 2nd in Borno state in Mafa Local Government area, a border community between chad and cameroon, killing scores of people.

According to residents in the area, the men came into Mafa town using Hilux Toyota vans armed with AK47 rifles, Improvised Explosive Devices ( IED’s ), Rocket Propelled Launchers, petrol bombs and opened fire on residents who were asleep,

Kanu Nwankwo undergoes Heart surgery for the second time

 

According to Vanguard reports that the founder of  Kanu Heart Foundation, KHF,Nwankwo Kanu at the weekend underwent a corrective heart surgery at the Cleveland Hospital , Ohio, USA
The surgery was carried out during one of his normal yearly routine medical checks at the hospital following the 1997 heart surgery at the same hospital.
Co-ordinator of the Kanu Heart Foundation, Pastor Onyebuchi Abia confirmed the success of the surgery adding that the former Super Eagles captain has since left the intensive care unit, ICU, of the hospital and is recuperating in the hospital.

“He’ll be back home in a few days time’’, Abia said in a statement.I spoke with him Sunday afternoon and he confirmed he’s in a stable condition

Professor Wole Soyinka, the Nobel laureate, said he rejected Nigeria’s centenary award bestowed on him because of the inclusion on the honours list of the late Nigerian tyrant, General Sani Abacha and other known killers and looters of Nigeria’s treasury.

In a rejection note headlined ”The Canonisation of Terror”, Soyinka observed that the inclusion of Abacha on the list does not only show a failure of a moral rigour but it calls into question ”the entire ethical landscape into which this nation has been forced by insensate leadership”.

He reminded those who have forgotten so soon that General Sani Abacha was a vicious usurper under whose authority the lives of an elected president and his wife—M.K.O and Kudirat Abiola— were snuffed

How rapist injure Pastor and Hacks wife to death in Akure

Questions are being asked about what could have prompted a 22-year-old university drop- out, simply identified as Jerry to rape Mrs Eunice Ajayi Omoniyi, 57, wife of a pastor, in Akure,  Ondo State capital.

The incident happened on February 20 at Peace-land Road, along Ilesa-Akure Expressway at about 5pm.

The suspect, now on the run and has been declared wanted by the state Police Command, allegedly hacked his victim to death with a digger for rejecting the ungodly act.

The husband of the deceased, Pastor Omoniyi, was attacked when he tried to rescue his wife and is critically ill at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) Ile- Ife, Osun State where he was referred to from the state Specialist Hospital, Akure.

Boko Haram Bomb Football Viewing Centre in Maiduguri killing many fans

According to Vanguard
A twin explosion, Saturday evening, rocked a football viewing centre in Ajilari ward, Jere Council area of Maiduguri,  the Borno state capital killing several football fans.
The Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), said to have been planted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists at the viewing centre in Ajilari Railway Cross,  exploded at about 6pm,  killing many fans, while several others sustained injured.

Adamawa State Gov,Comm of police,Speaker others Flee from Boko haram

 

Adamawa State Governor, Admiral  Murtala Nyako (retd), and state officials in his convoy on Friday fled Shuwa in Madagali Local Government Area of the state upon learning of the advancement of Boko Haram members in the area.

Nyako, who was on condolence visits to victims of Boko Haram attacks in Shuwa, Gulak and Michika, was at his first town of call  when he was alerted to the advancement of  insurgents in the area again.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that the governor  scampered  to safety upon hearing what was suspected to be an exchange of gunfire between soldiers and  members of the Islamic sect. The governor, it was further learnt,  was immediately whisked into the vehicle by his security details, who advised that all other visits should be cancelled.

Soldiers flee as Boko Haram raid in Adamawa

 

Last Tuesday it was Yobe State where 59 schoolchildren were massacred. On Wednesday,  the bloodletting extended to Adamawa State where Boko Haram terrorists, armed with rocket-propelled grenades  nearly sacked  four  communities.

An official  death toll in the attacks  was  not available as of 9.40pm on Thursday. But  the  British Broadcasting Corporation Hausa Service put it at 37 while the Agence France Presse  reported 33.

 Banks, shops, part of a local government secretariat  and houses were  reported to have  been  looted and burnt during the six-hour  simultenous  raids  on  the three communities –  Michika,         Gulak , Shuwa  and Krichinga – by  the militants.

The Ex-VP is not mincing words..Over 50 students lost their lives in the early hours of  Tuesday when Boko haram invaded Federal Government College Buni-Yadi, Yobe state,shooting, slaughtering and burning students as they slept.

Boko Haram Burn down 3 churches, Bank and several houses in Adamawa

 

Barely 24 hours after the attack on the Federal Government college in Yobe state where 59 students were killed, suspected men of the Boko Haram group yesterday night attacked settlers at Kirchinga, Michika, Shuwari and Shuwa district all in Adamawa state. Several cars, houses, catholic churches, shops and even a First Bank Complex were burnt down.

The men also burnt down 3 catholic churches in Shuwari as well as a seminary school, Saint Joseph Minor Seminary in Shuwa.

14-year-old Ibrahim Musa Lampo, a JSS 2 student of Federal Government College, FGC, Bunu Yadi, Yobe State who was one of the lucky survivors of the Boko Haram massacre on Tuesday, which claimed the lives of 43 students. The Senate Defence Committee, chaired by Senator George Thompson Sekibo suspended budget hearings to pass a resolution which ordered the Nigerian Army to the North East.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Kenneth Minimah was ordered to provide security for all schools and health institutions in the Boko Haram affected areas to include Maiduguri and Yobe
