Man beheads 2year Old boy and rapes his mother in Ofada Ogun state

Picture above is a middle aged man named Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim has been arrested by the Ogun State police command for behading a 2year old boy and raping the boy's mother inside an uncompleted building in a bush at Ofada town in Obafemi/Owode local government area of the State.

Reports say the man trailed the woman who was carrying her son on her back, into the bush, forced her into an uncompleted building, raped her, then stabbed her in the neck. He then cut off the little boy's head. A passerby discovered what was happening and raised an alarm but by the time help finally came, the suspect had already fled the scene with the little boy's head. Continue...

Mad woman caught with N100,000 and 2 SmartPhones in Lagos

A woman said to be mentally-challenged escaped being lynched by an angry mob on Wednesday after she was allegedly caught with N100,000, two BlackBerry phones and an android phone.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene of the incident around Onabanjo Street, Oworonshoki, Lagos State, learnt that the incident occurred around 10am.

Residents narrates that two ATM cards were also found on the woman.

A resident, James Ogunkoya, told our correspondent that when some youths saw the woman with some money, they trailed her into a compound.

It was learnt that the youths, who suspected her of being a ritual killer,  pounced on her and beat her to a pulp.

WAEC To Ban Candidates Who Engage In Malpractice From Future Exams

 

Do you cheat in exams or have somebody that cheats most especially in WAEC? If yes warn that person to resist from such act.

The Nigerian Examinations Committee (NEC) of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has mandated the examination body to ban for a number of years, any candidate caught cheating in its annual examinations.This is one of the positions taken at the end of the 57th NEC meeting of WAEC held in Lagos.

A communiqué issued after the meeting noted that apart from the cancellation of results of cheats which has become the norm, such candidates should be restricted from future examinations.

Gunmen steal UN and Bauchi Television Hilux Vans at Gun-point

The Nigerian Police in Bauchi state said on Wednesday that gunmen had snatched two Hilux vans belonging to the United Nations following an attack on Soro town in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state. Soro town is on Bauchi – Maiduguri highway.
The Bauchi Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, said the incident occurred on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Mohammed said that the attackers, numbering about 20, also snatched another Hilux van belonging to the Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV).
He gave the registration numbers of the snatched vehicles as 206 UN, 139 UN and 04C – o4 BA, respectively.

Police D.P.O rapes female detainee in Lagos

 

A 31-year-old lady, who was detained at a divisional police station on Lagos Island, has accused the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the station of raping her. The lady, identified simply as Miss Akinwunmi, alleged that the DPO, a Superintendent of Police (SP), instructed one Inspector Ajiduwe to bring her to his office for debriefing of her case.

The DPO (names withheld) allegedly pounced on the lady and raped her after Ajiduwe left the office. Akinwunmi, who claimed she was arrested on April 15, about 1am, added that she was reported to the police by her ‘madam,’ identified as Mrs Pelumi, who runs a local cafeteria at number 11, Keffi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Soldiers free 121 Girls abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok

One hundred and twenty-one of the abducted students of the Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State have been freed by troops pursuing the suspected members of the Boko Haram sect believed to have carried out the attack.
The number of the freed girls was not disclosed.  
According to a statement issued by the Director Defence Information and Coordinator, Major-General Chris Olukolade, some 129 students were abducted on Monday night by a group of terrorists.

15 out of 200 secondary school girls kidnapped escapes from Boko Haram

Reports reaching us from online news website Saharareporters is that 15 out of the 100+ girls kidnapped Monday night by Boko Haram men, at Girls Government School, Chibok, Borno state, have escaped.

 

The girls were said to have made their escape when one of the lorries used in transporting them broke down along the road. The girls jumped down from the lorry and ran into the bush around them.

 

One of the girls who fled told AFP that they escaped when the men were trying to fix the vehicle.

"They tried to fix it. It was at this moment that some of us jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the bush".

Meanwhile reports say Military personnel are currently combing the bushes in Borno state, using the trye tracks of the vehicles used by the Boko Harm men.

See How Obanikoro soiled his hands in Ondo Election

 

A stakeholder meeting called by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ondo State, almost degenerated into fisticuffs on Tuesday as the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Akin Orebiyi, hinted that the commission had a report which showed that the Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, had “his hands soiled” during the election .

Commenting on the conduct of politicians, Orebiyi said, “We are aware of how Obanikoro even soiled his hands obstructing the electoral process. You can quote me anywhere. You can quote me anywhere…”

Members of the PDP at the meeting were angered by the statement, saying they took exceptions to the assertions of the REC.

How 18yr Old commercial sex worker was gang raped and killed in Lagos

 Police have apprehended two gangsters for allegedly raping and killing an 18-year-old commercial sex worker, Oluwatosin Ami.The suspects, John-Paul Chukwuebuka, 19; and Ebuka Chimudi, 22; belonged to a gang which specialised in luring young ladies to hotels with the aim of dispossessing them of their belongings and raping them.

According to police authorities, on April 10, 2013, two members of the gang posed as customers and visited the Happy Day Hotel, Orile.Oluwatosin was approached by the suspects and she took them into her room at the hotel which she secured at the cost of N3, 500 per day.The suspects were said to have overpowered Oluwatosin and stuffed a cloth in her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

Boko Haram abducts 103 secondary school girls in Borno

According to SaharaReporters  suspected members of the Islamist militant group, Boko Haram, have abducted 103 students in a daring raid at the Girls Secondary School in Chibok, a town on the border between Borno and Adamawa States.

The group’s assault on the all-female high school took place on Monday night. A security source disclosed that members of the extremist Islamist group killed a soldier guarding the school and inflicted injuries on several villagers before abducting the students.

The police commissioner in Borno State, Lawan Tanko, confirmed the kidnapping of the students to reporters in the state.

Following the bomb blast this yesterday at Nyanya, Abuja Nigeria, some of the injured victims at Asokoro Hospital needed blood urgently and the message was sent out to the public to come and donate blood at the hospital or blood transfusion center. A lot of people came out to donate blood including the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Andrew Pocock.

Mimi and Nikko (Reality TV Star) release sex tape

For about a year now, it’s been rumored that “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star MiMi Faust and her boyfriend, Nikko, had a Séx tape floating around. In the newly released “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” supertrailer, the existence of the video was confirmed by MiMi, Nikko, Stevie and Joseline.

“I’m in such another place, I don’t even realize when that camera is on,” MiMi tells Nikko in the trailer.

Well, the camera was definitely on and according to TMZ, those tapes have been acquired by Vivid Entertainment. Vivid executive Steve Hirsch says he acquired the tape and recently got MiMi and Nikko to sign off on it. According to Hirsch, “Love & Hip Hop” producers have also given their blessing on the tape. The tape, which has been titled “MiMi & Nikko: Scandal In Atlanta,” will be released later this month.

EFCC arrests seven Undergraduate at Lekki Lagos for internet Fraud

A surprise dawn raid on two houses in the Lekki area of Lagos on April 6, yielded the arrest of seven suspects, all undergraduates studying various courses in some of the nation’s tertiary institutions.

The undergraduates, who are within the age-range of 21 and 29 years, include Elete Fred Debi, a 500-level student of Physics/Production Technology of the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State. Others are: Ese Iriruaga, 300-level student of Geology,  Delta State University, Abraka, Delta State; Couson Jimmy, 300-level student of Computer Science, Benson Idahosa, University, Benin-City, Edo State; Anthony Onos, 200-level student of Political Science, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State; Omene Stephen, 200level student of Computer Science, University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State; Kome Emmanuel, 200l student of Petroleum Engineering, University of Port-Harcourt and Shola Muyiwa of the Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State.

LASPOTECH Scraps Satellite Campuses

 

The Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH, would be closing all its satellite campuses across the country by 2015

This was disclosed by the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Abdulazeez Abioye Lawal, at the 22nd convocation ceremony of the institution held at its permanent site in Ikorodu, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria. A record 14,920 students, the highest since the inception of the school in 1977, graduated Thursday.
According to the Rector, this became necessary owing to the directive of National Board for Technical Education(NBTE) that the Polytechnic should close all its annexes by 2015.

20year old man kills room-mate over cooking pot

A 20 year old man named Ngwuta Nweke has been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly killing his roommate, Emeka James, at their apartment at Kadara slum, close to Sawmill, Ebute Metta Lagos during a fight over a cooking pot.

According to a Punch report, the incident happened on the 22nd of March 2014.

While being paraded before pressmen, Nweke said that he never intended to kill his friend. He said as they were fighting, he held James' neck and mistakenly strangled him to death. Continue...

Bomb blast kills scores at motor-park in Abuja this morning

Scores of people were killed and maimed as an early morning bomb explosion rocked a motor park in Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Monday.
Nyanya is a satellite town bordering the FCT and Nasarawa State.
The explosion reportedly occurred in a section of the park allocated to luxury buses popularly called “El-Rufa’i buses.”
Worst hit was the area where vehicles plying Abuja-Ilorin-Kabba were parked.
Workers on their way to their workplaces were most affected.
An eyewitness, who survived with a deep cut in his right leg, narrates that the explosion occurred while he was calling passengers into his car.

Govs aregbesola and fayemi emerged APC flag-bearer for second term

The Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and his counterpart in Osun State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, were on Saturday endorsed as the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the two states in the forthcoming elections.

The emergence of the Fayemi and Aregbesola was preceded by congresses held before the governors who had no contestants were endorsed as the flag bearers of their states in the governorship elections.

The Nasir el-Rufai-led committee supervised the primary election in Osun State where Aregbesola was endorsed.

While giving the governor the certificate of return, he said 269,631 members of the party voted Aregbesola for a second term out 355,390 members who registered in 332 wards across the state.
