President GEJ Unveils New N100 Note to Mark Nigeria Centenary

In other to commemorate 100years of Nigeria Amalgamation, a new N100 Note was unveiled by President Jonathan today Nov. 12th at the state house during the Federal Executive Council meeting.

While presenting the notes to other members of the Council, the president said it was a laudable gesture by the CBN to produce the notes which would serve as a reminder of Nigeria's centenary celebration.


Speaking on the new notes, Central Bank governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele said the notes will be in circulation from December 2014 scroll below to see Mr President with too much money.....

Jonathan made several promises aimed at wooing the mammoth crowd but was reminded by the PDP Governors’ Forum that the road to the February 14 poll would be rough.

Explosion! 13 Feared dead while Queuing for ATM in Bauchi State

No fewer than 13 people died and 40 others injured as two bomb explosions occurred at a commercial bank in Azare in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Friday.

Though the police could not give casualty figures, unconfirmed source said 13 people died in the explosion while 40 were injured.

The source said that the bomb blasts occurred at the Automated Teller Machine of the bank as customers were queuing to make withdrawals at about 9am.

The Presidency has said there is no part of the world where the President resigns during an ongoing war.

It therefore challenged the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to tell Nigerians where such presidents had resigned during war time.

The Presidency was reacting to the demand by the leadership of the APC, including its National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, that President Goodluck Jonathan should resign because of the on-going war against the country by the members of the Boko Haram sect.

Reacting on behalf of the President, his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, in a statement in Abuja on Thursday, asked Nigerians to ignore such calls.

Meet the Ghanian Fraudster who Conned Victims Out of £800,000 to buy Mansion In his Hometown

 

A Ghanian fraudster who pretend to be an Army General in Iraq has duped many ladies of £800,000 through an online Dating Website.

 He claimed to be an American major general, charming lonely British women through online dating sites with stories of his bravery dodging bombs and saving lives.

But in reality the dashing war hero they fell in love with was Ghanaian fraudster Maurice Asola Fadola, who conned victims out of £800,000 to pay for his lavish mansion in his homeland.

Yesterday Fadola was unmasked as one of the world’s most prolific online dating fraudsters as he was jailed for five years in Ghana for a series of international romance scams. He targeted women across Britain, France, Sweden, Italy and the US.

The conman, thought to be in his 40s, preyed on at least 19 British victims by peddling an elaborate web of lies. 

Boko Haram Threatens to kill the Negotiator( Read Full Transcript)

Few weeks after FG announced the ceasefire with dreaded blood-sucker called Boko Haram, The sect  leader, Abubakar Shekau allegedly released a video on October 31st where he said a lot of things, including that all the abducted Chibok girls have converted to Islam, that they have all been married off, and that there was never a ceasefire agreement with the Nigerian Govt. What Negotiation?Chibok Girls has been married off and converted to Islam-Shekau

Boko Haram issue now took a new dimension as Shekau debunked the story of the negotiation with the federal government, While Nigeria government maintains that Ceasefire talks were ongoing with in Chad, Boko Haram has released a new video in what appears to be Shekau saying there are no negotiations and the Chibok girls have all been sold off ..

Burkina-Faso sets parliament building and National TV Station ablazed

Anti-government protesters in Burkina Faso today set their National parliament ablaze following a decision by members of parliament to review the country's constitution to allow President Blaise Compaore extend his 27-year rule. The parliament members were due to vote on a change on their constitution which would allow the sitting president, Blaise Compaore - who took power in a coup in 1987 - to stand for re-election again next year, when he was due to stand down.

Burkina Faso sets their parliament building ablaze after members tried to elongate the regime of their current leader who has been ruling them for almost 27years,The angry protesters who did not buy into the proposed constitution review stormed the National Assembly building in the capital Ouagadougou, ransacking offices and setting fire to cars, before attacking the national television headquarters. At least one person died in the mayhem. 

One of the protesters said;

"We did this because Blaise was trying to stay too long. We are tired of him. We want a change. He must go!”

The violence forced the government to temporarily scrap a vote on the constitutional amendments. Relative calm has since returned to the capital city. See pics from the mayhem below...

Bomb explosion inside Bus Station in Bauchi State

 
A bomb explosion inside a motor park in Azare, about 20 kilometers from Bauchi town in Bauchi state has killed several people.Police investigators said they are yet to ascertain if its suicide bombing or a timed explosive device planted   inside the park.
The bomb exploded on Wednesday night around 10pm inside the park while  hundreds of travelers and traders were going about normal business.

Patience Jonathan resigns Perm Sec appointment in Bayelsa State

The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, has resigned her appointment as a “Super” Permanent Secretary in the Bayelsa State Civil Service.
It was gathered that the resignation followed  alleged  final breakdown in relationship between the First Lady and the Governor of the state, Mr. Seriake Dickson.
Dickson had in July 2012, five months after his inauguration appointed  Patience Jonathan, as one of the 17 new permanent secretaries in the state civil service.
Dickson said the appointment of the First Lady as a permanent secretary was based on the power conferred on him by Section 203 of the constitution.
He further said it was in recognition of her services to the state and nation, adding that she was a directorate level officer in the civil service.

Boko Haram abducted 60 women in Adamawa State

Thisday report,
 Despite the purported ceasefire, the deadly Boko Haram abducted Sixty women  at Waga Mangoro and Garta villages, both in  Adamawa State during a fresh attack. 
Whilst 40 women were said to have been abducted from Waga Mangoro, 20 were forcibly uprooted from their homes in Garta.
One of the locals in Garta, Tizhe Kwada, who escaped by a whisker,

“The insurgents are still in the area. They slit the throats of three men in Garta and abducted many young women. We also heard from residents of Waga that they killed two men and took 40 women away,”
