Soldiers,DSS Raids APC Data Centre in Lagos

Operatives of the Department of State Service and soldiers attached to the security unit code-named Operation MESA on Saturday stormed the All Progressives Congress data centre in Lagos and arrested 25 data agents and three security guards.

SUNDAY PUNCH learnt that the security agents also ransacked the duplex located on Ajibola Street, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, and confiscated computer hardware, which contained the data of APC members in several parts of the country.

Our correspondent, who visited the office, observed that all the rooms were turned inside out, while computer parts were scattered in the building.

It was learnt that the security operatives arrived at the centre as early as 6am and ransacked the building for about two hours before arresting those found on the premises.

Wife Stabs Husband to Death in Lagos over N1000

 

 27yr Old Folashade stabbed her husband Jude to death over a thousand naira argument in Ikorodu area of Lagos State,

Punch Metro reports,

What started as a mild argument over money turned tragic between a couple in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State after the wife stabbed her husband to death.

The incident happened on Wednesday, last week, on TK Balogun Street, Igbo Olomu, Ishawo.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the woman, Folashade Sodiya, 27, killed her husband, Jude Igbinedor, 39, around 2am after heated argument over money.

They were said to have been in a seven-year relationship, though the union had not been consented to by the parents.

Tambuwal Withdraw From Presidential race Picks Sokoto Guber

There are reports that the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, has dumped his presidential aspiration and might be settling for the Sokoto state governorship ticket under the APC.

Nigerian Army Recaptures Chibok Township From Boko Haram

The authorities of the Nigerian military have said that the Special Forces have liberated the town of Chibok in Borno State from the control of Boko Haram.

It was stated that the troops had secured the town and had restored normalcy to the area.

Some insurgents, who were fleeing from the military offensive in the Mubi axis of Adamawa State, had moved into Chibok to take control of the embattled town on Thursday night.

The insurgents had earlier abducted over 200 girls, who were sitting for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination at the Government Secondary School, Chibok, on April 14, 2014.

However, the military authorities said in an unsigned statement posted on the official website of the Nigerian military, <http://defenceinfo.mil.ng>, that troops had retaken the town since Saturday.

Evergreen actor who has been in movie industries since early 90s, Zack Orji, has said he is not prepared to join politics in 2015 while not ruling out the likelihood of contesting a political office in no distant time. Some Nollywood actors and actresses including musicians have decided to contest elective positions in the next general elections.

Orji,  said his colleagues were exercising their constitutional rights to vote and be voted for by joining politics. He expressed confidence that they would make a change if allowed to serve.

He said, ‘‘I have not given it a thought to go into politics. It is not what I have to give a thought now. But who knows what may happen tomorrow. Constitutionally, my colleagues have a right to vote and be voted for. They are Nigerians. I also know that they will make a change if they are given the chance to serve.’’

Atiku hold close door meeting with his Former Boss,

Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who had earlier paid a visit to the governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, arrived in a convoy, and drove into the former president’s compound.

He moved into the inner chamber of the building briskly as soon as he arrived. After a closed-door meeting which lasted for about 45 minutes, he emerged from the chamber with his host, and went to another wing of the building where they had lunch.

He later emerged after 20 minutes and told journalists that he had come to pay respect to his former boss and also discuss the developments in the country with him.

Bomb Blast Rocks The City of Kano

There was panic in Kano on Friday evening as a bomb blast killed at least six people and injured many others when the residents were returning home after the close of business.

According to the accounts of some eyewitnesses, the blast occurred along the Maiduguri Road opposite an NNPC filling station in the Hotoro area of the city.

Panicked residents told journalists that the blast shook several houses around the scene of the tragedy. Security operatives, including fire fighters and the police were reportedly battling to rescue the injured victims as of press time.

Boko Haram Capture Chibok Township

 

Dreaded sect Boko Haram has returned to Chibok Township in Borno state, the scene of its most celebrated notorious kidnapping of over 200 high school girls in April 2014.

This time, the sect militants reportedly killed an unspecified number of villagers.
The rest of the villagers had escaped through bush parts and headed to Damboa after Nigerian troops fled the village.

Another Military Helicopter Crashed in Adamawa

 

The Defence Headquarters has confirmed the death of three crew members in a military helicopter crash on Thursday night.

The Defence authorities said in a statement posted on its official blog,  http://defenceinfo.mil.ng/, that the crash occurred by 10 Pm on Thursday around the Federal University of Technology Yola, Adamawa State.

It was stated that rescue workers worked throughout the night to preserve the wreckage of the aircraft and the crash scene.

“At about 2200hours yesterday November 13, 2014, a ground attack helicopter on an armed patrol crashed around the Federal University of Technology Yola, Adamawa State.

“The crew of three was lost in the ill-fated accident.

Pastor Tunde Bakare receives N20million Check donation on his 60th Birthday
