Abductors demand N200m Ransom for the release of Lagos Schoolgirls

The abductors of the three girls kidnapped from Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary (BMJS) have demanded N200 million ransom.
Timilehin Olisa, Tofunmi Popoolaniyan
and Deborah Akinayo, all SS2 students, were snatched away from their
classroom at about 9:30pm on Monday during prep.
Timilehin, it was learnt, is the
daughter of Ven. Victor Ayo Olusa, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos
Anglican School Management Board.

Olubadan of Ibadan to be buried by Feb 12
Following the death of Olubadan of Ibandan Land Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade I the Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi says the late Olubadan will be given a state burial on Feb. 12.
Ajimobi made the announcement on Friday when he visited the late Olubadan palace at Monatan in Ibadan.
He
said that the funeral rites for the late monarch would begin on Feb. 6,
adding that a planning committee to handle the burial arrangements had
been set up.

mediated in the conflict between the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi,
and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana, over the elevation
of Senator Lekan Balogun, a former governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Adewolu
Ladoja, and seven other Ibadan high chiefs.
The IEF held a meeting at the house of
its Chairman, Ambassador Olusola Saanu, on Tuesday evening at the end of
which the matter was settled.
PDP cries out, EFCC is planning to poison Metuh
The opposition party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has alleged that Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is planning to poison its spokesman, Chief Olisa Metuh in detention.
As reported by Vanguard Newspapers that the National Secretary of the party, Prof. Adewale Oladipo said “We
state this because we have been made aware of top directives to break
Chief Metuh and if possible poison him during his detention by the EFCC.
Chief Metuh, has since his arrest at about 10 am, has been kept
incommunicado, with his lawyers denied access to him.”

Chibok girls and other captives are alive-Says Boko Haram contact Sakida
An alleged confidant of Boko Haram leaders and journalist Ahmed Sakida,
has recently disclosed that the abducted Chibok girls are still alive.
Ahmed Salkida claimed that some of the girls who were kidnapped from
their dormitory in April 2014, have refused to be converted to Islam.
The journalist who made this revelation in an interview with The Cable, an online news platform, advised President Buhari to open up negotiation channels with the militants.

Three Nigerian men have been arrested by Indian police for allegedly
gang raping a 19 year old Indian girl in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar area.

The Address Hotel in Dubai engulf by fire
The Address Downtown Dubai hotel near the worlds tallest building ( Burj Khalifa) was gutted by fire thursday evening. At least 16 people were injured after a huge blaze broke out from the 20th floor of the hotel. This happened hours before New Year’s Eve fireworks was supposed to start at the nearby Burj Khalifa. Guests at the hotel have been evacuated and fortunately no life was lost even though the fire spread very quickly.

administration was working hard to make things better for all Nigerians,
