Boko Haram attacked Military base in Adamawa, 24 killed

Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram have attacked a security base in Buni Yadi, the headquarters of Gujba Local Government Area killing 24 officials, residents of the area have said.
The victims include 13 soldiers and 11 police officers, the residents said.
The attack occurred on Tuesday evening, a few minutes after 5:00 p.m.
Residents of the town informed the BBC Hausa service that the attackers came in ten Hilux vans, an armoured tank, and several motorcycles.
The insurgents reportedly told the residents to go back home and stay indoors as their target were the security personnel in the town.

A resident of the town, who refused to be named for security reasons, confirmed  over the telephone that the attackers also torched some part of the traditional ruler’s residence, and several other buildings.
“They also raided that local government secretariat and burnt most of the vehicles inside the complex,” he said.
