Sir Alex Ferguson Set to Take Up UEFA Role

Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is set to take up a role with European football's governing body as a coaching ambassador, Uefa president Michel Platini said on Friday.

Students of the Federal University located in President Goodluck Jonathan's hometown of Otuoke in Bayelsa State, on Thursday protested what they described as a hike in school fees, harsh learning environment and high-handedness of the institution’s authorities.

LASU Students on Rampage, disrupt Exams, Stone Vice Chancellor

Lagos State University students went on the rampage Thursday, disrupting the university’s second semester examination and destroying properties in the process.

The protest which started Wednesday over the closure of the university’s registration portal, led to stoning of the University Vice Chancellor Prof. John Obafunwa, as he tried to evade the riotous students who had blocked the main gate and made bonfires on the Lagos-Badagry expressway.

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos, has apprehended a six-man robbery gang which allegedly attacked a church, Christ Authority and Power Evangelical Ministry, in the Ijanikin area of the state during the church’s crossover service on January 1, 2014.

The suspects, Adewale Osoja, Bala Yahaya, Hasan Ado, Ahmed Boladele, Abiodun Olanrewaju and Abbey Edward, were said to have stolen the church’s offering and also robbed members of the congregation of their Ipads, phones, jewellery and other valuables.

The Delta State University (DELSU) has released the fifth batch UTME admission list of candidates admitted into her various undergraduate programmes for the 2013/2014 academic session.

We Would Make Lagos State Uncomfortable for the Criminals-Gov Fashola

Criminals may no longer have hiding place in Lagos again as the state government yesterday activated the surveillance of the Close Circuit Cameras Television (CCTV)cameras installed across the state by the Federal Government.

The 1,000 cameras powered with 66 based stations across the state has its collapsible Video Wall for live feeds located at the Lagos State command Centre, Alausa, to effectively monitor the happenings at various strategic locations in the state.
The state government which said it planned to provide additional 1,000 CCTV cameras across the state to enhance the security surveillance, also disclosed that plans are in place to acquire video analytical solution for effective monitoring of the covered area.
